Welcome To CES, Odisha

Centre for Environmental Studies (CES) is an organization under the Department of Forest, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Odisha. CES undertakes activities to promote environmental education, awareness, training & research; to build environment information database and dissemination of environmental knowledge through newsletters, books, booklets, posters, leaflets, video clips etc.

CES is the State Nodal Agency for Eco-Club Programme.
CES is the State Nodal Agency for Energy Club Programme.
CES is the State Implementing Agency for Environment Education Programme (EEP).
CES is the State Hub for Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme (EIACP).
CES is the Nodal Centre for Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP).
CES is the Nodal Agency for conducting World Environment Day and coordinated Prakruti Mitra & Prakruti Bandhu Awards.

projects

EIACP

EIACP, formerly known as ENVIS, stands for Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme. It is a MoEFCC, Government of India initiative focused on environmental information dissemination, capacity building, and promoting green livelihoods. CES is the State Hub of EIACP of MoEF&CC, Govt. of India. Under this program, CES is collecting time series information relating to environment of the State for dissemination to the public. Time series information on environment related subjects are being uploaded in website for users. CES is compiling newsletters, booklets & knowledge products on environmental issues of the state which are being distributed among various users & stakeholders. 80 nos. of newsletter have been published so far.

ECO-CLUB

CES is the State Nodal Agency for Eco-club Programme of Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, Govt of Odisha. Under this programme, there are 3,000 Eco-clubs functioning in the State mostly in schools & junior colleges. These eco-clubs are mainly involved in carrying out both awareness & action based activities related to environment throughout the year.

GSDP

The Ministry has taken this initiative for skill development in the environment and forest sector to enable Indiaâ€™s youth to get gainful employment and/or self-employment, called the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP). CES is conducting certificate courses under Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) under ENVIS Programme of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Govt. of India.Â

ENERGY CLUB

Energy Club programme started in the year 2021-22 with support of the Engineer-in-Chief (Electricity)-cum-Principal Chief Electrical Inspector & State Designated Agency (SDA) under the Department of Energy, Government of Odisha. Under this programme, there are 8679 energy clubs functioning in the State of Odisha.

World Environment Day

CES is the Nodal Agency for conducting World Environment Day Programme of Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department, Govt. of Odisha. CES organizes State level function at State Capital Bhubaneswar on the occasion of World Environment Day every year and facilitates Prakruti Mitra awards to voluntary organizations/ educational institutions and Prakruti Bandhu awards to individuals working in the field of environment for outstanding contribution in promotion of environment conservation & protection in the State Odisha.

EEP

CES is the State Implementing Agency for Environment Education Programme (EEP) of MoEF&CC, Govt. of India. This Programme aims to supplement the knowledge that the eco-club student and young generation gain from classrooms with experience from nature and hands-on activities.
